Opium has been used since ancient times for relaxation. It was found in Egyptian tombs, Romans used it to heal wounds and and ancient Greeks believed it to bring health and strength. It was also used in Mesopotamia where the Sumerians and Assyrians knew it as the ?joy plant?, and more recently burnt in the form of Opium Incense sticks.
