Visnupurana is an ageless epic that was originally written by Maharishi Parashar, the illustrious father of Maharishi Veda Vyasa who in turn had written the Mahabharata.
Vishnupuran is the story of Indian Vedic culture. The story of Vishnu, who in man's fight against evil, comes to earth time and again to maintain the balance between good and evil. It is the first time that many mainstream audiences saw going to see the stories of the Ten Avatars (Dashavatar) of Lord Vishnu in this way.

The Sustainer, namely Matsya (horned fish), Kurma (mighty turtle), Varaha (fierce boar), Narasimha (Man-lion), Vamana (Dwarf), Parasurama (Angry Sage), Rama (Dutiful prince), Krishna (righteous cow herd), Buddha (Compassionate sage) and Kalki (messiah).
The first set of B.R. Chopra's popular TV Serial Vishnupuran has a total of 124 episodes, about 35 to 40 minutes each. They are complied on 19 DVDs with Hindi audio and English subtitles. It covers the stories from Matsya to Rama.
The second set completes the story with 12 DVDs and has Hindi Audio with English Subtitles
