How to Install the Downloaded Kindle Books
******************
ACCESSING DOWNLOAD
******************
After you order the download, on the checkout success page there is a link to the .zip file that contains the Prabhupada Kindle books. It is about 70 MB.
To access your download again, follow these steps:
1. Log in to your KrishnaStore account at http://www.krishnastore.com/account.php
2. Click on "My Orders"
3. Click on the order that contains the download. The download link will be in there.
4. Click on it. If you are given a choice, select "save-as". If it asks you where to save the file, you can save it in an easy-to-find location, such as "Desktop" or "Downloads".
*********************************
GETTING THE BOOKS ONTO THE KINDLE
*********************************
1. Go to the location where you downloaded the books. They will be in a zip folder, which needs to be unzipped (extracted).
2. If you have a Windows computer, extract the files from the .zip folder by right-clicking on the file and selecting "extract files" or something from the menu (depending on your computer and operating system, it may say "Extract to..." or "Extract All" or "Unzip" or similar). A new folder will appear that is not zipped. In there are the '.prc' files (the books files).
3. Plug your Kindle into the computer with the USB cable that comes with it and it will probably be recognized by your computer like an external hard drive or a memory stick. Go to "My Computer" or "Computer" (for Windows) and open the Kindle Device. Find and open up the "Publications" folder (or "Documents" or "eBooks" or whatever folder in which ebooks are stored) and copy the extracted Prabhupada Book files into that folder. When it is done you can start reading Prabhupada's books on your Kindle.
It creates a full-text index of the books so the search will work fast and that takes some time so for a little while, until it has created that index, the search will not work completely. But you can still use it and read the books and it will be working in the background indexing the books.
