This tape contains live recordings of the temple arati ceromony in the New Delhi ISKCON temple in India in the 1970's. It is recorded in front of Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Parthasarathi.

New York Kirtans

These kirtans were recorded in the 1970's in the days when the New York ISKCON Temple was a grand skyscraper building in Manhatten just blocks from Times Square. The ISKCON New York skyscraper temple is long gone but this tape still survives.

Visnujana Swami / Hansadutta -- Los Angeles Temple Studio Recording

In the early 1970's ISKCON Los Angeles built a professional recording studio in a building across the road from the New Dwarka Temple. Srila Prabhupada recorded many bhajans and kirtans in this recording studio. This tape has studio bhajans by the famous Visnujana Swami who was the leader of the Radha-Damodar Travelling Sankirtan Party who distributed Prabhupada's books by the millions all over the USA in the 70's. Side B has studio bhajans by Hansadutta Prabhu who was instrumental in starting the distribution of Srila Prabhupada's books in America.

Hare Krishna Kirtans--Baradraja dasa (New York)

Both sides of this tape have live kirtans recorded in the ISKCON New York temple. The kirtan leader is Baradraja Prabhu. Baradraja is famous as one of the ISKCON artists who produced the magnificiant paintings that illustrate Srila Prabhupada's books.

Delhi Pandal Kirtans and Bhajans

In the 1970's Srila Prabhupada and his "Dancing White Elephants," his American disciples, took India by storm. When the Indian's saw Srila Prabhupada's American disciples taking to Krishna consciousness so seriously they were startled. They once again began to look at their own spiritual roots more seriously.

One of the main preaching methods for ISKCON in India was to hold huge pandal programs in big cities. This tape contains live recorded kirtans and bhajans from one such pandal preaching program.

Rathayatra Festival Live Kirtans 1975 San Francisco

"Ratha-Yatra Day" was proclaimed by the Mayor of San Francisco as a public holiday in 1975. That shows how much impact the Hare Krishna movement was having in San Francisco in the 70's.
