This is a modern digital miniaturized version of the traditional japa clicker which also includes a compass. The compass is very handy if you go on a japa walk and get lost. It will help you find your way back to the temple. And as you keep on chanting the Hare Krishna mantra, that will help you find your way back home, back to Godhead. 

You put this on one of your fingers and click on it with your thumb and each time you press the button with your thumb it adds one to the counter. Very small and convenient and easy to use.
