The eyes demand that we see beautiful things, so money should be spent for decorating the Deity. Similarly, the tongue has to taste good food, which should be bought and offered first to the Deity, and the nose can smell the flowers offered to the Lord. In this way the senses can be regulated and used to advance in Krishna consciousness. With this spirit, the temple hosts an annual festival of immersing the Deities in a ton of rose petals. Then the collected petals are strewen from the balconies onto the chanting and dancing devotees.
