About this item
"Beneath a desire-tree, seated upon a jewelled throne, the ever-youthful couple named Kisora and Kisori are surrounded by all Their gopi friends."
When Srila Prabhupada first saw these Deities, he praised Their beauty and named Them Sri Sri Kisora-Kisori. Usually, with names of Radha-Krishna Deities, the name of Radha is mentioned first, so Srila Prabhupada was asked why Kisora, Krishna's name, comes first. He replied, "In this case, we saved the best for last." In a letter he later wrote, "I am glad to learn that the Deities are being nicely cared for in Chicago... If you can please the Deity by your sincere service, then your temple will flourish." The temple is named after a sacred grove in Vrindvan.
